Committee Members

Members of the Constitution, Bylaws, and Rules Committee (CBRC) are elected by other party members. Each congressional district elects 2 members, the State Central Committee elects 11 at-large members (at least 4 of whom reside outside the Twin Cities Metro Area), and the State Executive Committee elects 2 at-large members. No alternates are elected. Additionally, the state party chair and the party affairs director are both ex officio members of the committee.

Each election must achieve equal division by gender identity, meaning the difference between female- and male-identifying members elected cannot be greater than one. Any vacancies must be filled so that the entire committee achieves equal division by gender identity.

All elected committee members serve a two-year term of office commencing at the adjournment of the first State Central Committee meeting following each State Convention held in even-numbered years. The term of office expires upon the adjournment of that same meeting two years later.
